NASF offers different membership options for Job Shops, Suppliers, Consultants, Distributors, Students, and more. Please scroll down to find the category that best fits your needs.

Membership Categories​

Job Shop

This membership category applies to businesses whose primary operations are in surface finishing. Job Shops with a Chapter in their area must become members through their local organization. Job Shops without a local Chapter can become at large members by completing the Job Shop Membership Form. This corporate membership applies to all employees that the company specifically designates on the Employee Roster Form.

Suppliers, Consultants and Distributors

This membership category applies to companies engaged in the manufacturing, sale and/or development of equipment, materials or processes used in surface finishing. Supplier dues are based on annual sales revenue directly associated with the surface finishing industry. This corporate membership applies to all employees that the company specifically designates on the Employee Roster Form.

Associates, Captives and OEM

This membership category applies to businesses such as captive shops or OEMs that operate a surface finishing operation within their corporation but is not their sole source of revenue. Associates may also include corporations that do not perform finishing operations themselves, but use a variety of finishes on the products they supply to their customers. This corporate membership applies to all employees that the company specifically designates on the Employee Roster Form.

Individual Memberships

This membership category applies to individuals who are employed by companies that are primarily industrial users of surface finishing or who are eligible for academic, student, teacher, retiree or honorary memberships. Individuals eligible for this category generally provide intellectual capital or technical expertise related to the surface finishing industry nationally and internationally. Any person employed by a business entity that would be eligible to be a job shop or supplier member is not eligible to be an individual member.

Professional

Individual employees of companies that do not fall within the corporate membership category.

International

Any individual who resides in a country other than the U.S., Canada and Mexico and is not employed by an NASF corporate member.

Academic

Any individual holding a teaching or research position at an accredited college, university or vocational institution with an interest in surface finishing or the finishing supply chain.

Government

Any individual who is a federal, state or local government employee with responsibilities or job functions relating to the surface finishing industry or the finishing supply chain.

Student

Any individual no more than 25 years of age regularly enrolled in courses in an accredited college, university or vocational institution.

Retiree

Any individual who has been employed in an occupation related to surface finishing, who is 62 years of age and is retired from the industry.
